Movie theaters on the Strip are making a comeback. As Americans slowly emerge from the depths of the pandemic, theaters are once again welcoming guests while continuing to maintain a certain degree of social distancing. And who couldn’t use a little escapism and entertainment right now?
A few theaters closed over the past year (Eclipse and Brenden at the temporarily shuttered Palms), but options remain for those on or near the tourist corridor. Here are your best picks for movie theaters on the Strip.
Movie Theaters on the Strip in Las Vegas
1. Regal Cinebarre

Head to Palace Station, where Regal Cinebarre has mastered the luxury movie-going experience. The theater, operated by Regal Cinemas, has nine auditoriums with leather reclining seats, comfortable legroom, and state-of-the-art technology. You can order familiar candy favorites (like Raisinettes, M&M’s and Junior Mints), but Cinebarre also has a full menu that includes burgers, wings and pizza — plus cocktails, wine, beer and boozy milkshakes.
Enjoy your food and drinks in the Regal Cinebarre lounge, which happens to have a billiard table, or delivered to your seat in the theater.
2. AMC Town Square 18
Your best bet for a movie theater near the south end of the Strip is the AMC at Town Square with 18 screens offering an in-depth selection of the latest hits. The theater is equipped to show films in IMAX and ReadD 3D. Have a large party in town for a wedding or business expo? Rent out an entire theater for a private screening.

The food and drink menu has expanded dramatically in recent years with pizza, breaded mac n’ cheese bites, jumbo soft pretzels and more. Skip the line and order food in advance with the AMC mobile phone app. Cocktails are supplied by MacGuffins Bar.
3. Ultimate 4-D Experience
Looking for something quick, easy and fun? The Ultimate 4-D Experience is part of the kids-oriented Fun Dungeon at the Excalibur resort. Small theaters show adapted 15-minute versions of blockbuster films like San Andreas, Wonder Woman and Aquaman with interactive effects. You may feel vibrations, a gust of air or even a splash of water.

4. Century Orleans 18
This 18-screen movie theater is operated by Cinemark and just west of the Strip inside the Orleans casino. The chairs are all comfortable recliners with leg rests. Whenever possible, choose a screening in Cinemark HD — a THX-certified XD auditorium with a projector displaying images of 35 trillion colors and 11.1 layers of multi-channel surround sound. The experience is especially well suited for action films. If you’re planning regular return visits, the Cinemark Rewards Movie Club offers discounts on tickets, food and drinks with two free tickets for 2D screenings each month.

5. FlyOver Las Vegas
This isn’t a “movie,” but an interactive sensory experience that’s unlike anything else in Las Vegas. Developed by the creative minds behind Disneyland’s Soarin’ Around the World attraction, FlyOver takes the concept up a notch. Ride a simulated hang glider while traveling through the “wild west” of the United States with one of two screens 53 feet high and 63 feet wide. The laser projected visuals come to life with crystal clear technology that exceeds 8K clarity.
Along the way, guests will experience scents, mist and bursts of air while traveling up and down and side to side. FlyOver Las Vegas sends guests on an aerial adventure through some of the most unforgettable landscapes on Earth. It is located next to the United Artists Showcase Theater next to the Hard Rock Cafe.
6. Maya Cinemas
Although it’s on Las Vegas Boulevard, Maya Cinemas is about five miles north of the Strip in North Las Vegas. However, it may be worth a detour. The family-owned California-based movie theater chain caters heavily to Latino markets with a combination of mainstream hits and Spanish-speaking titles that aren’t widely available elsewhere.
Some screenings are equipped with RealD 3D, MPX digital projection and/or DBOX motion technology. Guests can get comfortable in sleek leather recliners with folding trays. A cantina serves drinks and food in the lobby. Come early. Your kids will love the arcade games.
