Why Did Brad Pitt ‘Faint’ at the Las Vegas Grand Prix? Here’s What Really Happened

Posted by on

Not many people get to see Brad Pitt on an F1 track. Fans at the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 22 got a shock when the Hollywood A-lister appeared to pass out on the track. But don’t worry—Pitt’s fall wasn’t real life, it was all part of the movie magic for his new film “F1.”

What’s Brad Pitt doing at a Formula 1 race?

If you’ve ever wanted to see Brad Pitt in a Formula 1 car, your wish is about to come true—on the big screen. Pitt is playing Sonny Hayes, a fictional driver, in a new F1 movie coming next year.

On day two of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Pitt’s character crashed out of a high-speed car. The drama didn’t end there. Hayes got out of the wreck and fell to the ground—a moment that had the onlookers thinking it was real. Luckily a crew member was on hand to “treat” the fictional driver and keep the movie magic alive.

Building the hype: A fictional team goes viral

To add to the authenticity of the movie, the production team has created a fictional racing team for Pitt’s character called APX GP. They’re going all in with the details, even posting updates about Hayes on social media as if he were a real driver.

“During Qualifying, Sonny had a big hit and will require medical attention,” the team posted after the filmed crash. “He’s stable but won’t be racing tomorrow.”

It’s a great way to build hype for the movie and blur the lines between reality and fiction—a win-win for F1 fans and moviegoers.

Star power takes over Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is already a celebrity heavy event but having Brad Pitt on the track added even more glamour to the weekend. And he wasn’t the only star on the scene. Rapper Ludacris was at the T-Mobile Zone at Sphere, bringing his own brand of cool, while Sylvester Stallone and the Wahlberg brothers were popping up at events around the city.

And… boom. 😎

What’s so special about this film?

The as-yet-untitled F1 film is going to be big, especially for motorsport fans. It’s being made in collaboration with Formula 1 so the racing scenes will be as real as it gets – using real F1 tracks, cars and race weekends.

And it’s not just Pitt who’s going to be stealing the show. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski, the guy who brought us the adrenaline-fuelled Top Gun: Maverick. With Kosinski at the wheel you can be sure the film will have as much speed and spectacle as the sport itself.

More than a movie scene

While Pitt’s “fainting” was just acting, it shows the level of detail the team are putting into this film. They’re not just making a film about Formula 1 – they’re putting the audience in the high-pressure world of motorsport, with all the drama, danger and glory.

So next time you see Brad Pitt on the ground at an F1 event, just remember he’s probably just filming another scene. Or maybe Sonny Hayes is just having a bad day at the office.

Verdict

Las Vegas, F1 and Brad Pitt – what more could you want? As the hype builds for next year’s film, one thing’s for sure – Hollywood and F1 are a winning combination. Whether you like Pitt, fast cars or both, this is a must see.
