Las Vegas enjoys a long summer. During peak months, it can get hot and dry. At Ellis Island Casino, you can cool off during the heat of the day at their kidney-shaped pool that is available only to hotel guests. It is surrounded by a pool deck with plenty of loungers. You can request extra towels from the lobby or housekeeping when spending time at the pool as well. There are two cabanas available free of charge, but you will need to call ahead to make a reservation if you want to guarantee availability. These cabanas are perfect for relaxing in the shade, especially for families or small groups of friends. Bring beverages and snacks to enjoy while sitting at the small table provided.  A hot tub is also available at the pool that will comfortably seat several adults. If your feet are aching after a long day of walking along Las Vegas Boulevard, come down to the hot tub after the sun has gone down to unwind and plan your next adventures. The pool and hot tub at Ellis Island Casino are not open year-round. It closes in late September or early October and will open again in mid-March, depending on the weather.

Balcony Options at the Ellis Island Las Vegas

Every suite at Ellis Island Casino has a private patio equipped with an outdoor, bistro-style table and chairs. These covered patios are the ideal spot for enjoying that cup of coffee or mini-bar beverage available in your room or suite. Visit one of the on-site restaurants or bars and take your meal to go, then appreciate the meal and the view from the comfort of your balcony. Not all balconies at the casino are the same size. They will vary depending on the type of suite you’re enjoying. The Elvis Suite is ideal for the largest patio with the most comfortable seating. You’ll find a spacious balcony with coordinating decor and ample seating. If you plan on spending time outside on your patio or even entertaining others who are also staying here, this is the perfect gathering space.  If you share a suite with others, having a balcony also helps provide additional space for everyone to spread out. Although suites have a living area and a bedroom, these accommodations are still on the smaller side. The balcony gives you more seating, whether you would like to sit together or spend time apart when sharing a small space. 

Ellis Island Las Vegas is a cheap Hotel

The Ellis Island Casino is an affordable option for those staying on the Las Vegas Strip that offers value where you need it. Guests enjoy free WiFi in their rooms, free parking, and easy access to on-site pubs and restaurants. Ellis Island offers regular and seasonal meal and player promotions, so there’s always something fun going on, no matter when you stay. 

Their rooms also provide affordable value with updated decor, new Tempur-Pedic Soft mattresses with luxurious linens, and name-brand toiletries provided. Attached Double Queen rooms are available for larger groups, making this an ideal spot for those traveling for wedding parties, conferences, and more. Larger suites with seating areas are comparable or more affordable than nearby accommodations with similar spaces.

Although the Ellis Island Casino does offer many benefits for Las Vegas vacationers, you will notice some things lacking that are also reflected in its’ low nightly rates. For example, pets are not allowed here, and the pool is relatively small. Although each room is equipped with air conditioning, it is not a more efficient central HVAC system. The rooms aren’t very large, but if you don’t plan on staying in much, this shouldn’t be too much of a problem for you. 

Ellis Island Las Vegas is in the Middle of the Strip

The Ellis Island Casino is conveniently located just behind Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas in the middle section of the Strip. This means you have easy access to some of the most iconic resorts, like the Bellagio, the Venetian, and Caesar’s Palace. However, the Las Vegas Monorail has a station located inside Bally’s that will take you to any one of six other stations along the Strip. While there are plenty of things to do nearby, nothing is holding you back from exploring all that Las Vegas Boulevard has to offer.

The LINQ Promenade is just a short walk toward the Strip and north of the Flamingo, located at the LINQ Hotel. Here, you’ll find a shopping and restaurant center with plenty to do, including the High Roller Observation Wheel. This wheel offers air-conditioned pods taking you on a 30-minute ride to enjoy stunning views of Las Vegas Boulevard any time of the day or night. The Linq Promenade is a great way to spend the day in Vegas.

If you’re in the mood for shopping, head to the Forum Shops at Caesars or the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian. The Paris Las Vegas offers some of the hottest bars and nightclubs in the Mid Strip. Other attractions close by include the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo, the Real Bodies exhibit at Bally’s, or the free Fountains at Bellagio light and water show. 

Ellis Island Las Vegas is a Hotel with Rooms

Ellis Island Casino has recently remodeled its King and Double Queen rooms with a more modern and relaxed feel. It’s easy to sink into the Tempur-Pedic Soft mattress topped with luxuriously soft all-white linens after a long day of exploring the Strip for a restful sleep. Get up early the next day to try a round of golf at nearby Rio Secco, or sleep in a bit, so you’re ready for a night out on the town, starting with Bally’s or Paris Las Vegas resorts located right next door. 

All rooms include a coffee maker with all the essentials needed to brew a good cup or two in the morning, as well as a mini-bar stocked with water, juices, and alcoholic beverages to suit your needs. You won’t need to step out or wait on delivery if you’d like a quick cocktail, although it’s handy that there are restaurants and bars located at the casino as well. 

If you are visiting for a few days, feel free to unpack and make yourself at home. There is plenty of storage in the dresser and nightstands. Chill for a bit with the large screen TV or get some work done at the comfortable desk space.

Ellis Island Las Vegas is a Hotel with Smoking Rooms

While the Ellis Island Casino does not offer any smoking rooms, you are free to smoke on your private patio as long as you do so safely and keep the balcony clean. You should keep the glass doors closed at all times while smoking. Only suites are equipped with an outdoor space. These balconies include a bistro-style table and chairs so you can comfortably relax. The Elvis Suite offers a more comfortable living room-style patio. 

These covered patios are quite convenient for smokers as not every hotel has this option or allows for smoking rooms. Not all balconies will have an ashtray, however. If there isn’t one available, you can pick one up at a souvenir shop or convenience store on the Strip relatively easily. Feel free to leave it for the next guest or bring it home with you as a memento of your Vegas vacation.  

Smoking is allowed in the casino while using the machines and at the tables. There are several other designated areas of the hotel, both indoors and out, that allow smoking. However, most restaurants and indoor bars do not allow smoking. If you are ever unsure, be sure to ask an employee, and they would be more than happy to let you know if smoking is allowed or point you to the closest designated area.

Ellis Island Las Vegas has Suites

Suites at Ellis Island Casino are freshly remodeled with modern upgrades and offer a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Roomy living areas feature large screen TVs, sufficient seating, and a perfect place to kick up your feet after exploring the Las Vegas Strip. Brew a cup of coffee or grab something from the mini-bar as you unwind.

The bedrooms provide either one King or two Queen beds with Tempur-Pedic Soft mattresses and velvety soft, all-white linens for a restful sleep. While Queen beds come with three pillows each, King beds are piled high with six. The Double Queen Suite will comfortably sleep four guests.

Ellis Island Casino boasts an Elvis Suite as well. This suite has a distinctly vintage Vegas vibe with all the modern conveniences you’d expect, including a mini-bar and two large-screen TVs. The Elvis Suite’s unique decor makes it a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors, with a headboard designed to look like a vinyl record, distinctive wallpaper, and framed artwork. 

Suites offer outdoor patios with a small bistro-style table and chairs. The Elvis Suite boasts a large covered patio with comfortable seating and a coffee table to relax or entertain.
