An article describing the change from MLife to MGM Rewards which took place in 2023.
If you’ve visited Bellagio, Aria, Luxor or any other MGM property, you’ve likely heard of M Life. M Life was the MGM loyalty program before their recent rebranding to MGM Rewards. MGM Rewards, like the M Life rewards program before it, allows those with an MGM Rewards account to turn everyday purchases into perks. Just by signing up for an MGM rewards mastercard and spending money, cardholders begin earning points toward elevated experiences and exclusive member benefits.
Experience the epitome of luxury and entertainment at an MGM property in Las Vegas, where world-class amenities and thrilling attractions await, ensuring an unforgettable stay in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world. Your Las Vegas adventure begins with MGM, promising non-stop excitement and unparalleled comfort.
Since MGM announced that they were replacing their familiar rewards program, Vegas visitors and locals alike have had questions about what this means for their ability to earn rewards at MGM properties. The stakes are high, after all, since M Life rewards members were able to earn hotel stays, dining, slots, table games and more. Learn what the move to MGM Rewards means for members below.
MLife is out, MGM Rewards is in
M Life was MGM’s member rewards program which was beloved by participants for one simple reason: you could earn tier credits easily. Tier credits are the points you need to move up the ranks as a member to earn more exclusive benefits. Each tier status has its own benefits, with their value and usability increasing as you move up. To put it plainly, those with first-tier status have access to the most basic perks, and those with fifth-tier status have access to the coolest perks.
With the change to MGM Rewards, it’s a little trickier for members to earn tier credits. This is because MGM Rewards is less rewarding than M Life was. Each dollar spent using the MGM Rewards Mastercard amounts to as little as one-fifth of what you would have earned under the M Life program.
The M Life login remains similar as before with being able to login very easily. To log in to the MGM M life portal, visit the official MGM Resorts website and locate the “Log In” or “Sign In” option. Enter your MGM Rewards account credentials, which typically include your username or email address and password, to gain access to your account.
That’s not to say that it’s not still a great rewards program–you can still earn plenty of tier credits and rewards points as a member of MGM Rewards. Check out our rundown of the benefits below.
What can I earn with MGM Rewards?
The point of MGM rewards points is to incentivize visitors to stay loyal to MGM. The same way hotels like the Sahara try to entice guests to keep staying there, MGM Rewards follows the same concept. When you use your MGM Rewards credit card, MGM makes sure you feel the love in the form of member benefits. These perks range from store discounts to guaranteed tickets to shows with 24-hour notice. The laundry list of rewards is almost as long as the line to get into Hakkasan, so get comfortable.
